BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
found that it’s better to show and not tell when
selling a roof.” He believes homeowners will
engage and ultimately buy the content if the
content is relevant.
What Brunno, Austin and TJ have in common is
this: they’ve turned the everyday grind of roofing
into a brand—and in doing so, they’ve given the
industry a face, a voice, and a little bit of star
power. Roofing used to be something people
watched get done. Now it’s something people
watch for fun. That shift says a lot about where
the trades are headed.
In addition to the quick TikTok or Instagram
reel, many roofers are finding valuable
community and support through informal
Facebook groups dedicated to the industry.
These online spaces have become hubs for
sharing knowledge, discussing challenges,
and offering encouragement among peers. One
notable group is Level the Playing Field, which
centers its conversations around insurance
work—providing roofers with a space to navigate
claims processes, share documentation tips, and
advocate for fair treatment within the insurance
landscape. Another important community is
Harness and Heels, a group created by and for
women in the roofing industry. This empowering
space is designed to support, uplift, and connect
women who are often underrepresented in
the field. Members share their experiences,
career advice, and industry insights while also
addressing the unique challenges they face in
a traditionally male-dominated trade. Together,
these groups illustrate how social media is
reshaping professional support systems—
fostering a sense of solidarity and helping
individuals thrive in the roofing industry.
Social media has pulled the curtain back on
an industry that was often overlooked—and in
doing so, it’s created unlikely stars, real-world
business growth, and a redefined sense of pride
in roofing.
In 2025, the roof isn’t just a job site—it’s a stage.
And the next big name in roofing? Might just be
a video away. Maybe it will even be me with my
humble 922 followers on my @independentroofer
tiktok account!
