Maciek Rupar, NRCA’s Director of Technical Services
MRCA is proud to present the results of its recently
commissioned study, The Effect of Moisture on Plywood
and OSB Sheathing, conducted by Wiss, Janney, Elstner
Associates Inc. (WJE). This session brings together technical
experts from both the National Roofing Contractors
Association and WJE to provide members with valuable
insight on this critical issue for roof decking.
The program will be led by Maciek Rupar, NRCA’s Director
of Technical Services, who will share NRCA’s current
recommendations promoting the use of plywood in steep
slope applications. Following his remarks, WJE specialists
Heidi Mase and Rich Koziol will present the findings of
MRCA’s new study, including testing data, conclusions, and
observations that shed new light on the performance of
plywood and OSB under moisture exposure.
This unique format gives attendees the opportunity to
hear directly from NRCA and WJE experts in one session,
offering a well-rounded look at the issue from two respected
technical voices in the industry. Contractors, designers,
and technical professionals alike will come away with
practical takeaways, informed perspectives, and a deeper
understanding of how substrate choice can impact roof
performance.
