www.mrca.org — Midwest Roofer 4 A CALL TO ENGAGE Bill Seibert, MRCA President D ear Members of the Midwest Roofing Contractors Association, As I take on the honor of serving as your incoming President, I want to share my gratitude and enthusiasm for the journey ahead. It is a privilege to follow in the footsteps of dedicated leaders and members who have helped build our association into a meaningful force for the roofing industry in the Midwest. Looking back Our 75th Annual Conference & Expo in Schaumburg, Illinois was a remarkable gathering of contractors, suppliers, educators and industry experts. Safety was front and center as MRCA recognized roughly two dozen roofing companies and individual contractors with ELITE Safety Awards for their strong commitments to job-site safety and risk management. The educational sessions and expo floor reflected that dynamic mix of commercial and residential roofing highlighting innovation and regulation, job-site practice and business strategy. The networking and connection building were strong whether it took place in the exhibit hall, at the receptions or in the breakout sessions. Old friends and new were able to compare challenges, share successes, and build relationships that will endure beyond the two-day event. I believe those connections are a cornerstone of what makes MRCA strong. When you meet someone across the hall who’s experienced the same weather-driven market swings, or a supplier who has tested the same membrane system you’re considering, the value of membership comes alive. Being a member of MRCA is far more than a badge—it’s a community. In this business we face evolving codes, materials, technologies (and workforce issues). Through MRCA we tap into collective know-how, not just from suppliers but from contractors who’ve walked the rough slope before. There’s no substitute for talking face to face with someone who’s done what you are doing. The trust that forms at the show, at committee meetings, in local chapter gatherings—it becomes a resource. These relationships help you find solutions faster, avoid duplicate mistakes, and identify new opportunities. Through MRCA you’re not alone. Together we influence training, safety standards, and public perception of the roofing trade. Your membership amplifies your voice and your business. The networking, the exposure to new products, the access to education - these translate into stronger operations, more resilient firms, and long-term competitiveness. My commitment as President is to foster even deeper connections among our membership, to ensure every member feels engaged and sees tangible benefit from their affiliation. Looking ahead I’m excited to announce that our 76th Annual Conference & Expo will be held at The Westin Cape Coral Resort at Marina Village in Cape Coral, FL November 18-19, 2026. The setting in Cape Coral offers not only a beautiful destination but also a relaxed environment where business gets done and relationships are strengthened. MRCA’s Conference will feature not only a new venue, but a new format as well designed to maximize value and connections. The compact timeframe (two full days) is designed to respect your busy schedules while delivering concentrated impact. The expo floor, now vendor tabletop displays, will still showcase manufacturers and suppliers of all sizes as well as the latest roofing innovations and services and enhanced networking events will allow more time for informal connections, peer-to-peer exchange, and those “hallway” conversations that often spark the best ideas. My goal is that this next conference is not just another date on the calendar, but a meaningful milestone for your business, your team, and your network. A call to engage As we move into this term, I encourage every member—whether you’ve attended dozens of MRCA conferences or you’re considering whether to join or re-engage—to make the most of what MRCA offers. Attend the local chapter meetings, engage in the committees, meet one new person at each event. Take advantage of the educational sessions, bring your team, and apply what you learn. Use the expo floor as a resource: pick up one new idea, one new relationship, one new technique from each show. When you attend in Cape Coral, plan networking intentionally: schedule a coffee, join a roundtable, stay a few minutes after the session and talk to the speaker or your neighbor. Membership and the relationships forged through this association are investments—not just in your business but in your personal professional future. I’m looking forward to working with you, growing with you, and seeing what we can accomplish together in 2026 and beyond. Thank you for your trust, your commitment, and your participation. Let’s make this a year of growth, connection, and excellence. Warm regards, Bill Seibert MRCA President President’s Message
