6 / FRAME BUILDER - VOL7 NO1 PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE A MESSAGE FROM JOE SHIMP NFBA PRESIDENT I t’s that time of year that we feel the warmth of Spring and then heat of Summer, and then many of us just feel busy. Managing a business, clients, friends, family vacations and life in general can be overwhelming this time of year! The NFBA uses this time to review how the latest Expo and Conference went, what are plans are for the next, and to look over all of the projects and activities we are involved with and want to focus on to enhance membership and awareness. We will meet in person in June, and this year in particular, we have many new board members to spend time with to introduce them to our committees and the rest of the board. While many of us know each other and are somewhat familiar, it’s exciting to see new energy and passion in the meetings. My goal, and that of the NFBA Board Executive Committee in general, is to find the best way to utilize and support our board members in their new roles, often aligning their passions and skill sets with needs of the NFBA. The NFBA has so many resources available to its members, and I want to remind you what a great value membership is. If you simply used one major aspect of what an NFBA membership offers you, your investment cost would be covered! If you utilize many of the membership benefits, such as legal, technical, educational, buying program, safety, and more, your return on investment will be many times your membership fee. While the NFBA staff and board are always working to enhance membership and our services, we do appreciate constant and honest feedback on what we can do better, how we can be your partner and support growth for you as an individual company, not just our industry. It’s also my pleasure to share that the NFBA is working to further enhance our educational offering and workforce development. We remain active in ensuring we are recognized in code books and other engineering and construction standards. Many of these efforts go unnoticed when they are being done, but if they were not implemented, they would be quickly recognized as difficulties and challenges in the operational and business sense. Often, I can look at our industry at large, including the smallest suppliers and vendors to the largest builders and manufacturers, and I’m amazed at the amount of talent, collaboration, skill, and overall genuine work ethic displayed. Finally, I personally want to wish you all great success! Here’s to the remainder of 2026! Joe Shimp NFBA President Conestoga Buildings THE OFFICIAL NFBA MAGAZINE
