reetings, MICA community!  
I hope everyone had a 
wonderful time enjoying the 
great venue and speakers at 
Everline Resort. The pleasant 
weather also provided an excellent 
introduction to summer in the 
Midwest.
We had a great turnout for the entire 
event, but especially for the farewell 
dinner. Thank you to all for attending 
these events. I was most impressed 
by the turnout for the opening night 
welcome reception. We really packed 
that patio and kicked the week off 
with a bang! Seeing old friends, 
creating new ones, and seeing our 
association’s network come to life is 
really impressive. Our membership 
participation is what makes these 
events worthwhile for attendees. 
Whether you enjoyed the challenge of 
the golf course, learned a new skill by 
fly fishing, or just enjoyed mountain 
scenery, this year’s location really had 
something to offer everyone. 
This year’s speakers focused on 
personal and professional growth. 
We heard from Bianca Lager on “The 
Trust Dividend” and Pete Smith with 
“Dare to Matter,” both offered unique 
insights into your own personal 
journey through work and life. Our 
final day speaker, Sara Whedon, 
offered brain health strategies. If you 
would like to suggest a speaker or 
topic, we would love to hear from you 
as we always strive to find topics that 
matter to our members.
A big thank you to the NIA 
representation that attended this year. 
NIA President, John Stevens stood out 
with a passionate, heartfelt message 
about his journey in this industry and 
the craft behind it. 
Summer is typically our industry’s 
busiest season, so thank you to 
everyone who made time to attend 
and contribute. I hope you all 
continue to enjoy a safe, happy 
summer with family and friends.
Coming up this fall we will be back in 
Omaha for our Fall Business Meeting. 
This is another fantastic opportunity 
to engage with colleagues and 
continue professional growth.
