Ben Pfister Honored with the William R. Heaston 
Outstanding Member Award
T
he Midwest Insulation 
Contractors Association (MICA) 
proudly recognized Ben Pfister, 
President of Ludeman Insulation 
& Supply, Inc., as the recipient of the 
William R. Heaston Outstanding 
Member Award during the 69th 
Annual MICA Conference.
Ben’s connection to MICA spans 
generations. After graduating from 
Wichita State University in 1999, he 
intended to immediately join the 
family business. His father, however, 
encouraged him to gain experience 
outside the company before 
returning—a decision that helped 
shape the leader he is today. Ben 
eventually returned to Ludeman 
Insulation & Supply, Inc., where he 
now serves as President.
Service to MICA has always been a 
family tradition. Ben became MICA’s 
third-generation Past President, 
following his father, Jim Pfister, and 
grandfather, James Pfister. He also 
carries on a remarkable family legacy 
alongside his uncle, former MICA 
President John Pfister.
Throughout his career, Ben has 
demonstrated an unwavering 
commitment to advancing the 
mechanical insulation industry. As 
an NIA Certified Energy Appraiser, 
he has been a strong advocate 
for professionalism and industry 
standards. He also led the design and 
implementation of MICA’s website, 
helping establish the association’s 
online presence and modernize 
communication with its members. His 
dedication to education and technical 
excellence continues through his 
service on the MICA Standards Manual 
Editorial Board since the 9th Edition, 
and he will soon 
assume the role 
of Co-Chair.
While his professional 
accomplishments are impressive, 
those who know Ben know there is 
much more to the story. He’s known 
for his dry, sarcastic sense of humor 
and a personality that may seem a 
little tough on the surface but quickly 
reveals a kind and generous heart. 
He is a devoted husband to Mandy, a 
proud father to Jay and Charlotte, and 
someone who is always willing to lend 
his time, knowledge, and support to 
others.
Outside the office, Ben enjoys traveling, 
spending time at the beach, exploring 
new technology, and diving into 
interests ranging from Star Wars and 
science to artificial intelligence. He’s 
also an avid animal lover who shares 
his home with a dog and two cats.
Whether serving the association, 
mentoring others, or helping move the 
industry forward, Ben has consistently 
demonstrated the leadership, 
dedication, and volunteer spirit 
that define the William R. Heaston 
Outstanding Member Award.
Congratulations to Ben Pfister on this 
well-deserved recognition and thank 
you for your many years of service 
and commitment to MICA and the 
mechanical insulation industry.
