LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT THROUGHOUT OUR MEMBERSHIP
Bill Seibert, MRCA President
A
s we move through
2026, I continue
to be honored by
the opportunity to serve as
President of the Midwest
Roofing Contractors
Association. Over the past
several months, I have had
the privilege of connecting
with members throughout our region and seeing
firsthand the dedication, professionalism, and
commitment that make our industry so strong.
MRCA continues to play a vital role in bringing
together contractors, manufacturers, distributors,
consultants, and service providers who share
a commitment to excellence and continuous
improvement. The relationships, educational
opportunities, and leadership development programs
provided through our association continue to
strengthen both our businesses and our industry.
As owner of Fisher Roofing Company in Kearney,
Nebraska, I have witnessed firsthand the changes
our industry has experienced over the years. Today,
roofing contractors continue to face challenges
ranging from workforce shortages and rising costs
to evolving technologies and customer expectations.
While these challenges are significant, they also
create opportunities for growth, innovation, and
leadership.
One of the themes I have emphasized during my
presidency is the importance of engagement and
leadership development throughout our membership.
The future of our industry depends on our ability to
cultivate strong leaders who are prepared to guide
their companies, support their employees, and
advance the roofing profession.
With that in mind, I am excited to highlight the
MRCA Leadership Summit, scheduled for November
18-19, 2026. This event is designed to bring together
current and emerging leaders from across our
industry to share ideas, develop leadership skills,
and build relationships that strengthen both their
organizations and the association. Whether you are
a business owner, manager, supervisor, or future
leader within your company, I encourage you to make
plans to attend. The connections and insights gained
through events like the Leadership Summit often
provide value that extends far beyond the meeting
itself.
In addition to leadership development, MRCA
continues to invest in innovative training programs
that address the evolving needs of our industry.
One initiative I am particularly excited about is the
new HAWT (Hot Air Welder Training) Program.
MRCA is proud to be the first roofing association
in the industry to introduce this specialized training
platform dedicated to hot air welding safety and best
practices.
As thermoplastic roofing systems continue to grow
in popularity, proper hot air welding techniques
and safety procedures have become increasingly
important. The HAWT program provides industry-
specific training designed to help contractors
and technicians better understand the equipment,
processes, and safety considerations associated with
hot air welding operations. By emphasizing both
quality workmanship and worker safety, this program
helps reduce risk while promoting higher standards
across our industry.
The development of the HAWT program reflects
MRCA’s ongoing commitment to innovation,
education, and workforce development. It is another
example of how our association continues to lead
by identifying opportunities to provide meaningful
resources that benefit contractors, employees, and the
industry as a whole.
Education and workforce development continue to
be critical priorities for MRCA. We must invest in
training and mentorship opportunities that help attract
and retain talented individuals while preparing the
next generation of roofing professionals for long-term
success. Likewise, safety remains a core value that
must guide every decision we make. Every worker
deserves to return home safely at the end of each day,
and MRCA will continue to provide resources and
programs that support that goal.
