b"THE OFFICIAL NFBA MAGAZINENFBA EXPO 3 ACTION PACKED DAYSJOE SHIMPNFBA PRESIDENTI PRESIDENT'S MESSAGEam excited to be writing this as your new NFBA President! While I have enjoyed getting to know many of you over the last 10+ years, I know this role will allow me to get to know even more of the NFBA membership! The NFBA and post frame industry has experienced the ups and downs of the broader economy and market over the last few years as we navigated COVID, politics, and changing markets. My passion is for all our members to thrive and grow, especially promoting new relationships and opportunities among our members. Over the last few years, the entire NFBA board has taken the time to listen to what is needed by our members and take actions to deliver a stronger and better position the NFBA to serve our industry. This magazine is the official magazine of the NFBA, its readers, writers, editors, and advertisers are all working together to produce a high quality, industry magazine that delivers! Its an experience to be had, I invite you to find time to relax and purposefully absorb and enjoy the content. The articles are written by experienced professionals who have a passion for their specialty and are experts at relating to what our members are looking for education and support with. The projects, awards, and advertisements all have relevance to what our members do on a day-to-day basis. As always, we welcome you to provide us with feedback or content requests for future magazine issues.Just recently, we had our Expo in Knoxville, and Im thankful to all those who attended, sponsored, and had booths! In addition to the Expo floor, we curated educational sessions that are relevant to business owners, sales, designers, and crew development. We hosted events and gatherings to not only highlight the best of our industry but allow for meaningful engagement and interactions amongst members. We had Rulon Gardner deliver a keynote speech about persistence and hard worka message that easily resonates with all of us! The show floor featured live demos and product information to improve our collective quality as an industry. Vendors, specialists, designers, builders, and more all had the opportunity to business develop and more importantly enjoy each others company. More importantly, it is refreshing to gather with like minded folks who ultimately want to better our industry for all who participate in it! While I cant share every detail of what all the board committees are actively working on in this intro, I think we are in the midst of some of our biggest developments and updates in years! The board has heard from all of you what the NFBA membership and post frame industry needs. We are: working to develop and promote education and career development, updating our Building of the Year Award program, updating the Post Frame Design Manual, finding ways to add more value to membership, and strategizing on future show locations and timing to maximize results! The board and safety committee continue to look for ways to promote a safe and healthy workplace for all involved in the Post Frame Industry. Finally, I want to reiterate my dedication to serving the NFBA members! It is my passion to listen and learn from every type of member and participant and help you, help us, grow this industry into the future. I know we can and will continue to become a much stronger NFBA, which in turn will strengthen this post frame industry that we all call ours!Joe ShimpNFBA PresidentConestoga Buildings6 / FRAME BUILDER - VOL6 3"
