# Link audit notes

Verified October 19, 2026 (America/New_York). The source artwork and page order have not been edited.

## Coverage

- 48 original pages.
- 284 link regions in the reader, including 21 decoded QR codes.
- 23 advertisement/promotional placements, including separate regions for all three advertisements on page 12, both advertisements on page 19, and the MRCA and law-firm promotions on page 40.
- 19 separately mapped sponsor/golf-club logos on pages 23 and 26. These appear separately in the advertiser audit.
- All 33 contents/index rows on page 3 are linked, plus 12 individual secondary page numbers in ranges/multipart entries: 45 internal targets on page 3.
- Printed URLs, email addresses, online registration links, meaningful calls to action, original useful annotations, and article continuations are mapped. The readable KPost domain within the page 19 example website screenshot has its own link.
- The final count is 21 QR codes. The earlier progress-message count of 22 was a counting error.

## Corrections made to link targets

| Page | Source issue | Applied handling |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 21 | Existing exhibitor link ends in an extra period | Removed the trailing period; verified the official exhibitor page. |
| 39 | Existing annotation uses `metaldecsupply.com` | Corrected to the verified `metaldecksupply.com`, matching the printed advertisement. |
| 27 | Existing hotel booking annotation covers only a tiny area beside the URL | Linked the full printed booking URL. |
| 45 | Uppercase, wrapped artwork URLs can produce incorrect case-sensitive paths | Used verified official paths, including WRCA `/Scholarship` and the complete MRCA calendar URL. |
| 17 | A hidden continuation to page 19 lies underneath the UFG ad | Removed that hidden link so it cannot hijack the visible ad. |
| 17, 32 | Covered master-page footer URLs underneath artwork | Did not overlay unrelated footer links on visible ads/forms. |
| 3, 12 | Printed ad index omits the page 12 Auman Mahan + Furry ad | Preserved the printed index and added the ad to the reader's complete Ads panel and audit. |

## Confirmed live destinations

Direct live fetches superseded older search-engine caches for the MRCA pages. The registration page currently supplies contractor, exhibitor, and golf registration options. The auction page supplies 2026 Foundation Luau Dinner & Auction information; it also includes a historical 2025 recap. These are not unresolved stale-page problems.

The page 27 Passkey link identifies the MRCA event at the Westin Cape Coral, November 17–20, 2026. Room availability and rates were not tested through a reservation transaction. The page 34 Problem Profile QR opens the actual MRCA Problem Profile form. The page 40 report QR successfully retrieves the WJE sheathing research report.

The BITEC QR redirects to its official social-links page; the separate **Find a Rep** text opens BITEC's verified sales/representative directory. The RoofersCoffeeShop QR resolves to its official R-Club signup. The Posh QR resolves to its official roofers answering-service page. Original encoded QR URLs, including campaign parameters, are retained.

## Uncertainties and source discrepancies

1. **Page 45 webinar date:** the magazine prints October 21–23 for “The Company That Owns You.” MRCA's live events calendar lists **November 3, 2026, 2–3 PM**. The link opens the official calendar; the artwork remains unchanged.
2. **Pages 22 and 24 email:** printed `sfrier@mrca.org` differs from `sfreier@mrca.org` on the official registration page and the magazine's registration forms. The printed address is clickable as printed and flagged as a likely typo. No mail was sent and no mailbox deliverability is claimed.
3. **Some official websites restrict automated fetches:** Hanover (including both QR destinations), Ameriprise, GAF, Marriott's hotel overview, and OMG returned HTTP 403 to the audit client. Their identities were verified from official sources, but successful access from every browser cannot be asserted. Do not interpret these as proven dead links.
4. **Elevate:** the official site is verified, but the audit client could not validate its certificate chain. The destination remains the verified official URL. Certificate validation was not bypassed.
5. **Social sites:** LinkedIn redirects to sign-in, and social destinations may require an account. No accounts were accessed or created.
6. **RK HydroVac phone:** the printed 888 number was preserved; current official office numbers differ. The number was not called.
7. **Cover/article inconsistency:** the cover mentions a “Legally Speaking” feature, but page 19 contains RoofersCoffeeShop and Ameriprise ads. No article or destination was invented to fill this source discrepancy.
8. **Screenshot artwork:** the small website mockup within the RoofersCoffeeShop ad is not a separate ad. Its readable KPost domain is linked; decorative screenshot UI is otherwise part of the parent advertisement.

No registration, booking, purchase, message, email, or form submission was performed. See the CSV files for page coordinates, destination URLs, sources, redirects, HTTP results, and per-placement notes.
