www.njchiropractors.com I 3 TM Insurance Update Medicare Q&A L ANJC Leadership Executive Director’s UPDATE L Stepping Back While Still Moving Forward As we head into the final stretch of 2018, the ANJC has been working steadfastly on many levels to protect what we have all worked so hard for and has been working to strengthen the profession as best as we can. Every day is a struggle, let’s not kid ourselves, but we have made great strides forward like no other state society. The ANJC Board of Directors spends an entire Thursday once every month at our headquarters discussing and strategizing the various issues that are in front of us while watching closely those issues behind us. We work on local issues as well as national issues and watch trends that are happening in other states, learning and planning to be ready should a particular issue come to the shores of our state. We participate annually in a full day of strategic planning plotting our direction for the next several years as well as constructing legislative, insurance, PR and other initiatives to fight for our patients and practices. With the recent ANJC elections completed, new leadership steps forward to continue to work on the many issues of the day for our profession. Dr. Jordan Kovacs has been on the ANJC Board of Directors for a number of years actively engaged in our state as well as national issues. I cannot tell you how excited I am to see Dr. Kovacs as well as his 1st Vice President, Dr. Victor Rossi, take over the leadership reins for ANJC. Their dedication, spirit and work ethic will steer a seamless, continued forward direction for your ANJC, and they have garnered the unanimous support of the membership and ANJC Board of Directors. As the new leadership takes over, my time as president now comes to completion. I am so very proud of what you the membership, ANJC staff, consultants, vendors and Board of Directors have done over the years of my involvement, and I just cannot help but wonder what type of position we would be in if our state organization was not as strong as it is. Having a professional executive director like Amy Boright Porchetta for the past two years has brought a level of expertise and insight that has raised our organization to another level. ANJC is strong, very strong. And that strength stands to fight every battle possible, even when the odds may be stacked against us. We may not win every battle, but we are never going to back away from any fight when it comes to our patients and our practices. We have won legislative victories as well as legal ones. We have been (and continue to be) treated unfairly for years, and with a strong ANJC, which YOU make happen, be assured that our strength in numbers makes all the difference. Our “Jersey tough” attitude will keep us leading the state, as well as the country, for our profession. Our never-ending battles need your unending support of ANJC so we can hire insurance consultants and lobbyists, we can have professional staff and have the necessary resources to help membership whenever an issue comes up. I know we are in a better position than ever before in our existence, and I implore each of you to stay involved in whatever way you can. Support ANJC when they ask you to step up, and be the best doctors and representatives of the chiropractic profession.
